Now is the time of year that I like to address the association between first aid, and the health care services directory from Doctoralia with the garden. We are all preparing for a joyous reunion with our gardens, and marking the days off on our calendars till we can pull out the tools that we will use all spring and summer long to make our outdoor areas a haven.

Yet, the reality of the matter is that those very gardening implements that assist us in pruning, shaping, and planting the goodies we grow can be quite dangerous. So, you should always have a first aid kit on hand for those cuts, scrapes, and other minor injuries. You should never work in the garden without the knowledge of the fact that you have those supplies at the ready.

And while I don’t want to be Debbie downer, you need to plan beyond the first aid steps. Have resources in place that will connect you to health care when you need it. Perhaps, having been involved in gardening for so long I have seen more than my fair share of both small scale and large accidents occur out in the wide open. Without going into detail, I will say that for the first incident I was unprepared, and for the second I was equipped with Doctoralia. Get a plan in place now, the difference it can make could change how things play out dramatically.

Lots of work and dedication goes into keeping a veggie patch in growing order, as well as a flower garden. Both can require a gardener to lug around heavy materials such as soil, mulch and cuttings. Enter the trusty wheelbarrow, a true partner in the maintenance and development of any sizeable outdoor area. Though you might have formed quite a bond with your wheelbarrow, they can on occasion be difficult, like when they sway under the weight of what we have piled onto it, and even sometimes fall over due to the weight of the work.

Yet, we can make things easier for ourselves as we do our gardening, and for our much loved wheelbarrows. After all, we are the ones who ask them to lift and carry more than they would probably care to, and our navigational skills, and lack of physical strength are often contributors of the tipping, swerving wheelbarrow.

Nowhere is this more true than on garden steps, and luckily it can be amended when the occasion calls for such action. Just make a ramp with planks of wood, along with a chicken wire cover to create traction for the wheel. Be good to your wheelbarrow, it deserves it.

Renting an apartment or house in London for six months is usually more favourable to first timers who are still in the process of venturing into job and living possibilities in the place. Those who find the place suitable to their career and lifestyle, however, takes a major step and look for new homes for sale.

Then again, finding a house in different parts of UK should take major considerations. One should know the ins and outs of real property deals and investments in the country. Owning a permanent residence in a foreign country, after all, can be both daunting and intimidating for some.

Generally, these steps are followed by investors who are considering the purchase of brand new homes:

1. Check the location of the new property. It is imperative to decide on the place, depending on the kind of family the potential owners have. When the family includes small children, it is a must to choose a location with good schools nearby. It is also a good idea to check whether groceries, hospitals and recreational areas are accessible.

2. Consider the budget. Stick with what you can afford and look into the range of options. Note that the price of the property does not only depend on the size of the house or by the fluctuations in the real property market, but also on the location. New homes for sale located at the business districts (called prime areas) are often more expensive.

3. Have the home buyer’s loan pre-approved before checking on the new home sales. This way, investors can avoid hassles of selecting a house that is not within the range of their budget.

4. Get a real estate agent. Having represented by a realtor makes the process quicker and simpler. A good agent may as well get the investors a good deal and set the property’s price lower. Note that in selling a property in London and other parts of the UK, real estate agents charge 2.5% to 3% of the final sales price of the property. Some, however, are paid from the commission given by the builders.

Buying brand new homes in UK is covered by laws not known to many. It is then more recommended for immigrants to hire a lawyer who can survey the property and its supporting documents. The lawyer may also lay out clearer instructions when it comes to paying property tax in the country. Buying a luxury property in London, for example, entails payment of local taxes and possible stamp duty.

The following information should also considered before hunting the market down for new homes sales in UK:

- Potential real property owners need to pay at least twenty percent down payment of the price if property

- Contacting the local real estate calculator aids in comparing the costs of different properties in different parts of the country

- There are different factors that the new owners need to look into such as current interests, property taxes, tax savings, appreciation trends of investments, etc.

- Different type of properties and taxes (or other liabilities). The properties may include:

1. Traditional, multi-family residential complexes usually located in suburbs

2. Combination and integration of residential homes that can be used as office spaces

3. Neighbourhoods with mixed tenants including groceries, stores and other company offices

4. Single or multi-tenanted houses in prime lots.

A romantic garden requires a special touch, a master plan that encompasses all growing things enticing and delightful. Those spectacular plants that drape seductively over ceramic cherubs, and the soft delicate and enticing flowers that appear like they bloom for the viewers attention and no other reason are required. Yet, how do you get past the planning stages, and the voluminous list of greens that it will take to paint the picture? A grow station is the answer.

These growhouses are perfect for aiding you in nurturing some of the younger and more fragile plants for your garden. It can be conveniently placed near your home, and you can therefore tend your precious bunch by just popping outside the door. This will work exceptionally well for those who are mostly weekend gardeners, but recognise that some of their plants require more attention in between the weekends they’ve set aside to gardening.

Be sure to get ne of these plant houses that have side walls that you can raise and lower. This will allow you to maintain a certain temperature when necessary, and then lock them in an open position for ventilation when that is required. This will also make it easy for you to poke your watering can inside to give those plants the drink of water they long for.

Call up the furniture hire now because this June is going to bring packed garden parties everywhere. For this is the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and that mere commoners means a four day bank holiday. And since the queen is hosting one humongous garden concert, it seems like the perfect time to tie in one of your own. In fact, we are being encouraged by the monarchy to gather together to celebrate. The goal being not just to toast the incredible legacy of the queen, but to spend some time together with our community having fun ourselves. This of course takes planning, and advanced bookings of outdoor tables and chairs is an absolute must if everyone is being prompted to revel out of doors.

One thing you won’t have to arrange is the entertainment. You see, a concert is planned to take place in the gardens of Buckingham Palace that will feature pop, classic and rock musicians from the UK. And that event will be televised, with attendees having won their tickets in a public ballot. That leaves the rest of us to host our own Jubilee garden party and to just pipe the audio from our televisions outside, set a tv up in the garden, or maybe even a projector against a screen. If you like the idea of bringing the television or screen outside you will definitely want to analyse what furniture you will need to support either of them. That is not something to leave until the last minute only to find you should have hired something for that too.

The place you grow your garden herbs may not be the most attractive set up. While we think this is somewhat sad, as herbs can be absolutely breath taking when presented in a lovely container, there is another reason to keep things neat. It is pretty common to accidentally snip the wrong herb, especially if they are growing on top of one another and are not labelled.

This need not take up a ton of space, but is best for each herb to be in its own pot. To conserve space, bunch the containers together. In addition, make them all the same style of pot, and then write in nice handwriting what each herb is inside. Now you have an agreeable mini garden.

When you need more than a sprig or two of an herb, you can take the whole container into the kitchen. No more return trips to the garden to get more. This will make them portable, presentable, and practical.

So you have spent your blood, sweat and tears on making your garden grow, and yet you do nothing to keep your garden hose from beating it up. I mean really, how many times have you pulled aggressively at the hose without concern for what damage it may inflict? I bet there are times that you intentionally did not look back at the path of the hose because you really did not want to know what was occurring.

Listen, we all know it is inconvenient to have to walk back and see what is holding the flow of the hose up, or what has mired it down. It is so much easier to keep your eyes focused straight ahead, and to flick the hose forward with brut force. Yet, we all know this is unwise. But what’s a gardener to do? Simple, make a garden protector. Do this by hammering rebar sticks into the ground, and then sliding copper tubing over it. This will hold the hose outside of the perimeter you have established and the tubing will spin as the hose passes it, so it moves how and when you want it to smoothly. For both safety reasons and visual appeal, add some caps to these posts.

Every year I plant a new type of bulb and last year it was the Thalia Daffodil, also known as the Narcissus. I was prompted this time not by a visit to a manor house, or the recommendation of another avid gardener, but an unexpected source. The impetus was a photograph that I was given of my grandparents on their wedding day.

They were wed during wartime, and as such were unable to have lavished themselves with great luxuries. This meant that my grandmother’s dress was partially made from a lace table cloth, and sewn by a neighbour. It also meant that she was unable to have an expensive bouquet professionally made.

She was given a bunch of Thalia Daffodils, as white as her gown by my great grandmother. They were neatly held together with a hand tied ribbon, and accessorized by sprigs of mint. And in the photo in one hand she carried the daffodils as if they were the most expensive flowers she could imagine, and in the other she held the arm of my grandfather as if he were the greatest of gentlemen ever to live.

After having seen this image I knew Thalias would be making a home in my garden. When I researched them I found that they have existed since 1916, and have maintained popularity for nearly one hundred years. Now, my Thalia’s stand tall in my garden as a symbol of true love, that which does not put on airs, but is enduring, and pure.

As outdoor weddings are tres chic right now, I started to wonder why it takes such an occasion to make the very most of a garden space. Just think about it, once a date is set, those who are offering the venue will often kick start things into overdrive. This is specifically true when the event is being held in a family garden, or a friends garden.

Owners start to revise the landscape, tweak things and make them extra special as it were. It is often the case that romantic elements are brought in, and boost the appeal of the entire territory. Things like gazebos, or trellises are invested in, along with bubbling fountains and decorative benches. Even lighting is revisited and improved.

But why do we wait for such an occasion, should we not tend to our gardens in this manner at all times? I for one am inspired to give my garden an injection of the verve and romance that comes with impending nuptials without any impending nuptials.

All my life I have been a fan of Japanese Maple Trees, and still view them as outstanding additions to any garden where beauty is a concern. Lately, I have been drawn to the Acer japonicum ‘Aconitifolium’ (also called ‘Maiku jaku’). If you are not familiar with Japanese Maples, I can’t begin to tell you what you are missing out on, they are truly special.

Perhaps it is just a right of passage to be enticed by one variation for its colour and shape, and then to move on to another throughout one’s life. I began with the red varieties, some purplish, others real crimson. Then I found the green ones to be most appealing, and that is probably based upon what my garden called for. But now, I am ready for some orange, and Aconitifolium should give me green, red, orange and yellow at different times.

In retrospect this seems like a perfectly natural transition, as this will give me a range that basically includes all of the colours that I sought out in the past, just all in one place. I am eagerly awaiting the chance to see its many colours firsthand.
